About us

Ever since school, I have been obsessed with the idea that the learning process can be relaxed, interesting, and effective. Having had to learn English on my own, I wanted to share my experience and give children something that could help them speak English faster and more confidently – immersion in an English-speaking environment, reinforced by formal learning and active participation in various activities. Thus, in 2019, Tutor Camp was born – a camp with native speakers and small groups.

Having my own experience as a mother and working with children, I am well aware of the challenges of raising and educating children in an era of high dependence on electronic devices. Our camp is gadget-free, which returns children to (and sometimes opens up to) the world of live communication.

In our camp, we believe in the “law of the boomerang” – what you sow, you reap. Therefore, in addition to the knowledge we give children, we share good with them, teach them self-respect, mutual respect and love by our example. We try to teach them resourcefulness and independence and the ability to recognize their needs. We show them what a beautiful country they live in, and explain to them about the responsibility for their choice. Because our and their choice depends on whether the future of Ukraine will be worthy of the feat of its Heroes.

Oksana Motyka

Founder and organizer of the camp
I lived in London for many years, where I graduated from the Medical University, worked as a doctor in the reception room of St. George's Hospital. In 2014, I returned to Ukraine with my family, and since February 2024, I have been living in two countries. I organized the GoCamp after-school camp, scout camps. I realized long ago that my calling is to develop and teach young people. Being able to convey to a child in a way that is understandable and easy for them, so that the child forms the attitude "I can and I like it" - this is what gives me drive. I always look forward to the start of camps to learn, learn and develop together with children. I am interested in permaculture and ecological construction, I plan to develop camps in this direction as well.

Share your language skills with Ukrainian teens in Tutor Camp, an English immersion experience led by the dynamic Oksana Motyka. You'll collaborate with her and a team of volunteers for lessons, games, meals, music, hikes and cultural outings. And – you'll meet great kids from all over Ukraine. It was exciting, challenging and meaningful for me as a volunteer. I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

In my free time, I like to do sports, I play volleyball for my university team. I also train in the gym and go to boxing classes. I also like to cycle around Manchester, as I like to spend time outdoors. I am passionate about music, so I sing in a choir, play the guitar. My favourite Ukrainian band is Okean Elzy.

I am a Senior Practitioner in Anaesthesia at University Hospital London. In 2018 I retired from clinical practice to devote more time to my various medical and musical projects in Ukraine. I first came to Ukraine in May 2002 and have since been running airway support workshops, mainly in the Ivano-Frankivsk and Ternopil regions. Through my close contacts with manufacturers, over £1.5m worth of surgical and anaesthesia equipment has been donated to hospitals across Ukraine. Since 2004 I have run a successful project for Ukrainian anaesthetists, giving them the opportunity to visit my hospital in London. I am an active member of the Ukrainian Medical Association in the UK and recently joined the annual UK-Ukrainian Anaesthesia Symposium. I live in West London, am married with two daughters and love all things guitar. I have long wanted to get involved in teaching English to Ukrainian children, so I gladly accepted Oksana's invitation to take part in TutorCamp.

Matthew March

Volunteer
Matvey is a volunteer on our team whose dynamic and resourceful personality brings a wide range of global experience, athletic prowess in outdoor games, training, and leadership in a variety of activities to our language camp team. Matvey has participated in expeditions to New Zealand and Alaska, and has led kayaking expeditions in the Atlantic Ocean and the Great Lakes of North America. During his travels, Matvey visited 16 countries, where he participated in a number of discussion seminars on the topic of planning research and doing business in very different countries—from Italy to China—and also worked in the actual management of enterprises in the field of international customer service. Matviy has a special sentiment towards Ukraine—primarily because his father's family emigrated to America from Carpathian Ukraine a long time ago (in 1905) (Matviy has an extended family near Mukachevo). Now Matviy is diligently trying to help children in every way he can—in particular, for example, he has already worked in Ukraine as a volunteer to help orphans and children with special needs—and now he has firmly decided to pass on his experience, his knowledge, and his level of English to you—the children who will be visiting our English-speaking Camp.

Yulia Kulyniak

Quest expert
An intellectual game that can be completed by applying maximum attentiveness, logic and ingenuity. You also cannot do without teamwork (from two to four people, sometimes up to five). The main difficulty is limited time. You can test your strength and just have a good time with friends in our “Quest Room” located in Truskavets. Verdict: recommended for those who want to stretch their brains – not their livers. After all, who doesn’t dream of feeling like Sherlock?

My son was lucky enough to get to Tutor Camp for the first time this summer. It was an unforgettable vacation! It was comfortable, interesting and fun. Everything was set up in such a way that it was not embarrassing to make mistakes when speaking English. This is a new positive experience of being in an English-speaking environment. At the camp, Oksana and her team are experts in their field and take care of all the educational and educational aspects. They don't have to persuade the child to sit still or speak louder - they do it all skillfully and unobtrusively! I really liked that at the camp the children talked about their impressions of the day they spent. And, again, it was interesting to listen to my son, when the camp relationship is not "elder-child", but practically "on equal terms". It is impossible to describe everything. Excursions, communication, emotions, acquaintances, gifts... Of the negatives, perhaps the only thing is that the shift ended quickly. If any of the parents have doubts, I advise you to definitely go! And my Serhiy will go there more than once, I'm sure of it 100%. Thank you for your work!!!

Oksana Pukshin have

A rich and interesting program, trips, new acquaintances and impressions - this is the summer change at TUTOR CAMP. And also - nice supervisors, delicious food, an atmosphere of understanding and a lot of good impressions! Thank you very much!

Roman

Thank you very much for the incredible impressions for the children. For your work, endurance, energy and love for your work. My daughters come to tutorcamps for the second time, enthusiastic, with new acquaintances, with motivation. And the trip to London is an extraordinary combination of learning with an excursion (very large) program. I will definitely recommend tutorcamps to my friends. Inspiration and growth to your team!!!

Galina have

Thank you to all the organizers and in particular Ms. Oksana. My son returned full of impressions, emotions, and new acquaintances. The classes were interesting, and the excursions were informative. The girls-organizers who accompanied the children were attentive and patient. The stay was like at home. Good luck to you!

Tatyana have

I would like to express my gratitude to the organizers! Thank you to the entire tutorcamps team for their professional work! My child visited the camp from 06/15/24 to 06/23/24. Support at all stages of document preparation. High-quality consultations and support for all necessary documents, as well as support for obtaining a visa in the shortest possible time. My daughter enjoyed the educational process, which was so excitingly combined with exploring the city and its attractions. A trip full of new knowledge and active recreation - isn't this the formula for a successful children's camp? =) So I highly recommend it!

Maria Izhutova have

Good afternoon! My daughter, having visited this camp in the summer, constantly shared positive impressions with her sisters. She told them about how they traveled, what excursions they visited, museums, quests, various creative tasks for which they then received points and gifts. But the most important thing is the ability to live without a MOBILE PHONE and not be bored at the same time, as well as new and interesting friends, as well as the child's awareness of the need to learn English in the present. PS Two daughters have already gone to the autumn camp together, respectively, and the impressions were twice as much, they didn't even want to go home. Thank you very much to Ms. Oksana and the entire tutorcamps team.

Fendak Serhiy father

The camp was recommended by a friend and I am very grateful to her, because my daughter received positive emotions when communicating with peers and a wonderful learning experience. Everything is well organized, including rest, food, and learning. As well as the atmosphere that prevailed throughout the camp, which was created by this wonderful team led by Ms. Oksana. Thank you.

When my son first came to this camp, our life changed - we count the days and wait for the next visit. This is his fifth time at Tutorcamps. In addition to English, he gained self-confidence here, and most importantly - friends, as well as a desire to return to the camp again and again. Thank you to Ms. Oksana and everyone involved for organizing the holiday, nice gifts and a good mood for my child!

Oksana, thank you and the entire team for a meaningful and interesting vacation for our son at the camp. We are taking the best memories of the camp to London. We want more!

Orissa have

Thank you all from our family. I have never seen my child so excited.

Alyona Kotlyar have

We are very grateful to Ms. Oksana for her dedication to the cause, which she organized perfectly. One can only envy the inspiration with which Ms. Oksana and her three English-speaking assistant daughters work with children. Our granddaughter Eva enjoyed spending 2 terms at the camp, although we were a little worried, because she is only 10.5 years old. She liked everything: a warm family atmosphere and cozy rooms with all the amenities; interesting hiking with porridge cooked on a campfire, which were conducted by Ms. Oksana and a volunteer from the USA Matthew; a trampoline and quests conducted by volunteer Yulia. The child just returned with a sea of emotions and positive impressions, and is already dreaming of the next trip to this English-speaking camp and meeting with friends next year. I would like to wish Ms. Oksana's friendly team to continue such an interesting and necessary work and new successes!

Vasyl Kryuk grandfather

Thank you very much for the wonderful and incredible impressions of the children!!! I really liked everything, you are great guys!!! Continue to teach children leadership, the ability to work in a team, discover interesting facts about Ukrainian nature and history, and also teach the art of communication in English:) Wait for us next year!!

Good afternoon! We were at the first children's camp. Our girl has the best memories of the vacation. Many excursions, good food, and most importantly - the children were engaged in English lively, playing. Even the lack of using mobile phones was not critical, the children were distracted from gadgets and saw other people and received live communication. Many thanks to the organizers and teachers for the useful time, which gave unforgettable memories to our children. ps Daria wants to visit TUTORCAMP again. Sincerely, Oleksandr and Olena

Alexander and Elena parents

The camp is perfect. And I would go again with pleasure. They feed deliciously. And the animators are very cool

Taras-Tadey pupil

Our son Taras-Tadei participated in the camp from June 8, 2019. He arrived very satisfied. He made friends with a volunteer from the USA. The next day after the end of the camp, he went himself to see everyone again. I missed him for 1 day ))) The living conditions are great. The food is delicious, healthy and in excess. The children were treated with respect and love. That's how the atmosphere between the camp participants was built. And English. If the conditions are created in such a way that all communication takes place in English, then you have nowhere to go, you have to speak )))) The main thing is not to be afraid. And everything was created so that there was simply no fear of making a mistake. Interesting excursions, acquaintances, communication, surprises and gifts. Ms. Oksana, thank you and the whole team for your work, love and acceptance. We are waiting for next year!!!
